Anonymous whispered,

hi there! I was wondering when you first started drawing on the computer were you any good? sorry if I'm sounding rude it's just I'm really curious because I'm terrible at digital art and have a not so good program! p.s do have any basic tips on how to get better at digital art? c:

oh god no.  When I started digitally, I used the dodge and burn tools in photoshop 7.0 so much.  It was awful.  Here is a good example from when I was 11; Neopets of course. (I was too scared to ask for a tablet too ahha)

As for basic tips, I’d say just understand the program you’re working with. And honestly, if you get down to it, digital art is not too different from anything else.  You can still paint and apply colors and shades in digital programs.  So just learn and read about different things you can do to help you when working with a particular program. (psst tutorials can be amazing resources)
